We had some heavy rains a couple days ago here in PA from Tropical Storm Andrea, so Lake Nockamixon was a bit high. That made perfect conditions in which to fish the now submerged weed beds that would normally be at the surface. My baits of choice were a 3/8 oz Picasso willow/indiana blade spinnerbait in white/chartreuse, and a Scum Frog Bigfoot in black/brown. The Picasso had just the right thump and flash for the stained water, and the hits were so solid I didn’t need to set the hook. I did add a VMC trailer hook for good measure before I fished it, but both fish were hooked on the spinnerbait’s hook. I threw it on an Irods 744C casting rod. It’s become my goto rod for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Casts a mile and keeps them hooked up. I also used my trusty Quantum EXO SPT reel spooled with 15lb  Maxima Chameleon monofilament. Let’s just say after that Maxima line handled that 42″ musky from a few weeks ago, I have the utmost confidence in it. As for the frogging, I only had two hits on the Bigfoot, and was able to bring  one to the boat. It was thrown on a Cashion 7’4″ Frog Rod, Lews Super Duty high speed, and 65lb Sufix 832. I haven’t had much frogging time with the Cashion rod, but I do know it’s an awesome multipurpose senko/soft plastics rod. Very sensitive and fishes like a dream. The Lews is smooth and casts like a dream, and is easily adjustable. the Sufix line I’m not keen on as I’ve only thrown it twice since spooling it onto the Lews, and it’s already fading. One of my pet peeves.

Anyways, enough with the idle chit chat. Here’s the video:
